General Care Tips:
Electric Golf Carts:
Battery Care:
Battery cables should be tightly connected to the battery post, if there is a loose connection, the battery post could become damaged.
Clean your batteries regularly to ensure battery cables have a connection free of dirt and corrosion. You should use corrosion preventative as needed.
Add distilled water to batteries to fill line (above plates) when needed. Older batteries require filling more often.
Battery life is approximately 5-7 years.
When it is time for new batteries, it is best to replace the set rather than replacing a single battery. This is a good time to replace your battery cables as well.
Storage:
Switch PDS or IQ carts to tow, or disconnect the two cables from your batteries to the motor (not the cables that connect from battery to battery)
Remove key and put cart in neutral.
Cleaning:
Use automotive cleaner and a sponge for the body.
Use water or acrylic cleaner and a soft cloth for your windshield and let air dry.
Clean vinyl seats with mold and mildew cleaner and rinse (apply to a small area first if seats are made custom).
Gas Golf Carts:
General Care:
Clean air filter.
Change oil regularly.
Replace spark plugs as needed (Usually with oil change).
Come to a complete stop before switching between forward and reverse.
Use premium gasoline, do not allow gasoline to become stale (approx. 60 days of no use).
If a tank of gas lasts you more than a couple weeks, consider using a gasoline additive to slow the oxidation process and extend storage time.
Cleaning:
Use automotive cleaner and a sponge for the body.
